A great joke to play on your neighbors.

A lady was telling her neighbor that she saw a man driving a pick-up truck down the interstate, and a dog was hanging onto the tailgate for dear life!

She said if the pick-up truck driver hadn't been going so fast in the other direction, she would have tried to stop him.

A few weeks later, her neighbor saw this truck at the local Bass Pro Shop.

The pick-up truck driver is a local TEXAS taxidermist with a great sense of humor!

Taxidermists are a twisted lot anyway!

And it is not a dog in the1st Place; it is a Coyote.

Can you imagine how many people tried to stop this guy?

Problem with Advice to X's and Y's

I promise not to fill this blog up with personal finance issues as that is what my other blog is for. However, one of my pet peeves is the way financial advisers look at Generation X and Y as investors. I totally disagree with this article and this is why I am posting it. I think generation X and Y are doing great at measuring risk with other factors than age.

I am one financial adviser that TOTALLY disagrees with this article:

The wealthiest generation our country has ever seen is the WWII and Great Depression generation. Theirs is the example we should be following when it comes to saving and risk taking.....

Generation X, commonly abbreviated to Gen X, is the generation born after the Western post–World War II baby boom ended.^[1] While there is no universally agreed upon time frame,^[2] the term generally includes people born in the 1960s and the '70s up through the early '80s, usually no later than 1981 or 1982.^[3]^[4]^[5] The term had also been used in different times and places for various different subcultures or countercultures since the 1950s.^[6]

You have a voice....

I am a financial planner by trade. My firm is a little different in that we work with many folks in generation X and Y. In reading some articles recently pertaining to the economy, geopolitical events, etc... it has become clear to me that Generation X and Generation Y are not involved enough in what is going on with our country. Maybe it is due to the fact that the "Babyboomers" are such a larger population than either of our generations. In any case, I have come to the conclusion that we can no longer leave all the decision making in their hands and just accept whatever future they decide to hand down.

So I thought I would try to maintain a blog to see if we could pull these two generations together more so that we could have more of a voice. I would love to see feedback from subscribers as to what you see as the biggest issues for our two generations. One of my biggest concerns is the financial burden that is being passed to us mainly on the votes of politicians in the Babyboomer generation. I do not want this blog to create a generational war with the Babyboomer generation in America but hopefully it will present information that could be used by generation as they make decisions that SERIOUSLY effect our future.

Since writing this blog is something I have to do in my spare time, I would love any ideas for topics that you would like to see discussed on the blog.
